Was anyone else as surprised at Gegard Mousasi’s gameplan as I was? I thought for sure he would come in with a fantastic sprawl and want to kick box against King Mo. Instead, he seemed determined to muster some kind of offense off of his back. Unable to do so, he lost a unanimous decision, and his title.
The shirt is simple, but damn cool. The graphic of the eagle is pretty awesome, and the back has Mousasi and the TapouT logo. In other news, this is Gegard’s third shirt. I think he has the most this side of GSP.
Calling most people fat is a pretty big insult. Roy Nelson doesn’t seem to think so. The man who walked to the cage to Weird Al’s Fat moments before winning TUF 10 pulled off another knockout and may be the most underrated fighter in the UFC.
Nelson’s shirt looks like the confederate flag version of Kenny Florian’s shirt. It has the flag, the eagle and the foil TapouT logo. It also has Nelson’s “Big Country” nickname on it. Anyone remember Bryant “Big Country” Reeves?
When people talk about what was missing from UFC 2009: Undisputed, there are a lot of different answers. Most people thought that the fights were too stiff. Most thought that the career mode was far too shallow. However, there was one question that everyone seemed to ask: Where the hell is Clay Guida?
Guida was making a real name for himself in the lightweight division around the time the game came out, so it was only natural that he should have been in the game. However, an issue with animating Clay’s signature long hair kept him out of the game last year. Dana White even offered him five grand to cut it. Clay said no. He’s too badass to accept bribes.
This year, Dana can keep his wallet in his back pocket.
Clay Guida is the epitome of awesome. Playing as him, and winning the title he may never win in real life will be just as awesome.
This is a weird card coming up tonight from a walkout shirt perspective. I don’t know if it’s because it is a free card, or just because there is so much action over the next couple of weeks that the clothing companies can’t keep up, but there are very few NEW shirts for tonight’s card. Instead, we are getting a lot of repeats.
Not that it’s a bad thing, some of the these repeats are some of my favorite shirts.
While it’s a really cool video, and B.J.’s narration definitely gets you seriously pumped up, I’m a little bit upset that we didn’t get a little bit more gameplay. There are a few things that I noticed:
In the first bit of gameplay, B.J. lands a really nasty looking takedown. You can tell the animations have improved from last year, where every double leg looked the same.
The second gameplay bit shows B.J. trainsitioning to rubber guard, and this also appears to be reanimated. It also could be him setting up for a triangle as well.
The third gameplay shot shows B.J. throwing bombs from back mount. Correct me If I’m wrong, but I don’t think that was an option last year, as any thing you had the opponent back, you rolled him over to attempt a rear naked choke.
We get to see some of B.J.’s signature style next with the arm trap against Matt Hughes. It looks awesome. Enough said. I can you tell you right now that Jason’s CAF will have that ability.
Next up, we see B.J. in his UFC 107 Walkout Shirt, wearing the belt in game. Was the belt redesigned? I’m thinking maybe. All I know, is that it looks shiny and It makes me want it around my waist. The shirt looks exactly like it’s real life counterpart.
The Kenny Florian section shows some B.J. pressing Kenny up against the cage, and generally kicking his ass all over the octagon. Just reminds me what a big letdown Kenny’s gameplan in that fight was.
The rest of the video shows off the redesigned clinch, but is hard to tell the difference from two brief seconds of gameplay. It also B.J. slipping a punch which looks slick.
Not the massive reveal that I hoped it would be, but I’m definitely pumped for May 25th even more now.
Love Nintendo? Love Kimbo Slice? Well do I have news for you!
This shirt is similar to the one that TapouT put out for Jens Pulver for WEC 47. For whatever reason, people seem to find these 8-bit shirts nostalgic. Come to think of it, I suddenly want to KO Glass Joe…
The back has the 8-bit font saying “All Day” which is Kimbo’s nickname. I know a ton of people who are going to be in front of their TV for Kimbo’s next fight, and a bunch will be wearing this shirt.
