That’s twice that everyone counted out Frankie Edgar against B.J. Penn, the consensus best lightweight in the history of the sport. That’s twice that everyone wrote off the Jersey native because he was too small, and didn’t have the tools to beat the most naturally talented fighter in the UFC.
That’s twice that Frank Edgar has tooled the great B.J. Penn on the feet and this time, he cemented his reign as lightweight champion.

We’ve always been big Frankie Edgar fans around here, and recently, I’ve become a big fan of his shirts. Affliction seems to save the best for Frankie, as both this and his 112 shirt are really awesome. I always say you can never go wrong by mixing red and black, the fleur de lis, and wing designs are very typical of Affliction.
Buy the Frankie Edgar UFC 118 Walkout Shirt at MMA Warehouse for 57.99, which is the typical price for an Affliction shirt these days.

Filed under News by Anthony De Franco on May 10, 2010 at 8:00 am no comments With his win over Michael Bisping at UFC 110, Wanderlei Siva reinvigorated his career. By dropping to middleweight, Wanderlei seeks to bring the violent style of The Axe Murderer to a whole new generation of fans that didn’t have a chance to see him in PRIDE.

With this and tomorrow’s shirt (Check back to find out what it is), I can truly say that Silverstar is back on their game. I think they had been a little hit or miss recently, but this one is awesome. The Brazilian colors with Wandy’s initial monogram and the axes in the background. Brilliant.

Filed under News by Anthony De Franco on May 6, 2010 at 8:00 am no comments Josh Koscheck has won 12 fights inside the UFC octagon but has never received a title shot. As crazy as that sounds, just think about all the progress that Kos has made over the last five years. From wet blanket to legitimate star in just five years. Nice.

This is my favorite Dethrone shirt of the year. There is none of the intricate “warrior” designs, instead going back to the combination of cool art with cool fonts. Also, a very cool color scheme with gold and black.
Carnal DaMMAge has it for 39.88.

Filed under News by Anthony De Franco on May 5, 2010 at 8:00 am no comments The unbeatable B.J. Penn was finally beaten. Throughout the fight he never looked like himself. We may never know why, as B.J. has taken the high road, proclaiming that Edgar simply was the better man that night. Penn remains one of the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and is likely only one or two fights away from a title shot.

This is limited edition shirt to commemorate Penn’s fight in Abu Dhabi. Much like most RVCA shirts, it forgoes the crazy designs in favor of the simple, sportier look. The back features B.J.’s name, “Jiu-Jitsu” and “The Prodigy” on bars, the same way the text on the front is.
MMA Warehouse has this one for 26.99

Filed under News by Anthony De Franco on May 4, 2010 at 8:00 am no comments Frank Mir remains one of the most popular stars in the UFC, despite his loss to Shane Carwin. In that fight, Carwin finished what Brock Lesnar started. Mir has shown an extreme positional problem when his back is against the cage. If you push him against the fence, it seems that Mir really struggles to generate any offense.
Nevertheless, as long as Brock Lesnar has the belt, Mir will always be close to the title. That fight remains an excuse to print money.

Suffer is a new clothing company as far as MMA goes, and have chosen to hitch their wagon to Mir. The shirt has some asian influcences and characters, and the red and gold color scheme seems to reek of far east as well.
Carnal DaMMAge sells this one for 38.98.

Filed under News by Anthony De Franco on April 28, 2010 at 8:00 am no comments How good is Jose Aldo? He single-handedly destroyed the man who was widely considered the greatest featherweight of all time. He made him look old and slow in the process by literally destroying his thigh muscles with devastating kicks. Jose Aldo is here to stay.

Dethrone Royalty’s newest shirts all seem to have a theme. They all have warriors from different periods of time. This one is a samurai, and it’s pretty cool looking. The back has Jose’s name and the DR logo.
MMA Warehouse has it for 29.99.
