Wanderlei Silva is awesome. He’s nicknamed The Axe Murderer, yet is apparently the nicest guy in the game. As a tribute to all his fans, he had all of them send in “War Wand” photos and then put together this awesome video. 
Still pissed we never got a chance to take our War Wand picture. Apparently this video of of an old white guy with an AWESOME beard beating the crap out of a young man with dreads has lit the internet on fire. So, as we do with every popular fight video, let’s break it down: MMA style. 
While the build-up is HI-sterical, the fight itself starts around 1:35. The fight starts and ends quickly as Beard Man hits the younger dude with a jab that floors him quickly. Shortly after that, he swarms him like classic Wanderlei and lands about five punches as the dude is going down. However, I question if that much that much blood could come from those five or six blows. It looks like Beard man goes to grab him, and then camera swerves off and we don’t get to see what happened. I have a sneaking suspicion that he slammed the guys head against the seat, which I think that big John McCarthy would frown upon. So, altogether it was an impressive boxing performance from a much older man. What would happen if he every fought a real fighter? Wanderlei Silva is a lot of different things. He was the best fighter in the world for a few years in PRIDE. He is a fan favorite of pretty much every MMA fan due to his action style. He is regarded as the nicest guy in all of MMA. As we get ready for his middleweight debut at UFC 110, let’s take a second to appreciate all the “The Axe Murderer” is.

Here’s something interesting: Arguably the most popular fighter in the UFC, Forrest Griffin will fight in Canada. Does anyone else think that Forrest is a bit of a “middle America” figure? He’s an unabashed redneck who’s rise to the title was something out of a Rocky movie, with Rampage Jackson starring as Apollo Creed. However, he will go out in front of a bunch of GSP fans in May. Curious of the reaction he gets. As for the actual fight, I hate to say this about someone who was so important to the rebirth of the UFC, but I wonder how much Forrest has left. He’s not that old, but he has taken a BEATING throughout his career. You can’t tell me that doesn’t affect you. Meanwhile, Nogueira is coming off a destruction of Luiz Cane in his UFC debut, but he did have to pull out of his last fight with injury. I’ll take Lil Nog by unanimous decision. He’s just better than Forrest in every phase.
