Bullshit. What utter crap. According to Heavy.com, My man crush Jon Jones will be forced to live with a blackmark on his record.
Jon Jones’ appeal to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to overturn referee Steve Mazagatti’s decision in his bout against Matt Hamill earlier this month has been denied. The NSAC stated that they don’t overturn decisions and decided against ruling on the appeal.
Heavy.com confirmed the news with Jason Genet, the manager of Jones, Shane Carwin and other fighters.
Jones was disqualified after landing two illegal downward elbows that forced Mazagatti to stop the bout. Hamill was not able to continue because of a shoulder injury, and the bout was called off. But for the first time in Nevada history, Mazagatti utilized instant replay and, upon noting the illegal elbows, disqualified Jones and awarded the victory to Hamill.
Jones filed the appeal because Hamill wasn’t able to continue the fight due to a shoulder injury and not the illegal elbows.
So, you throw a downward elbow, which should be legal but isn’t. That’s not the reason that the fight ends, but the fight does end. The dude can’t go on because of his shoulder, but you still lose despite whipping his ass because of the elbow.
THIS MAKES NO FREAKING SENSE.
Whatever. Jon Jones will return to the cage in March and exact his revenge on Brandon Vera.

I’m not one for pointing out every halfway attractive woman that I see, but I had to make an exception here. Men’s Fitness just did a photoshoot and interview with UFC veteran Rich Franklin’s wife Beth, and my god is she an attractive woman.

In no way shape or from am I taking credit for any of these pictures. They are from the article.
Here’s what she had to say about being an MMA wife:
What’s it like watching your husband enter the Octagon?
When Rich is fighting, it’s hard for me to breathe. I stay pretty relaxed until he walks out to the Octagon. Then my entire body starts shaking as I try taking pictures. I just worry about him getting hurt. I know he prepares fully for each fight, which is comforting, but it is still really hard watching the person you love getting hit. After the fight, win or lose, I feel a sense of relief and can breathe again.
What’s the hardest part about being married to someone who makes a living as a fighter?
This has to be the busiest career anyone can have. From training, to traveling, to appearances, seminars, movie roles, autograph signings—it’s never ending. Everyday there are highs and lows. The hardest part is that everyone wants time with my husband, and to me, time is the most important thing we have.
She also goes on to say that Rich doesn’t plan on getting back in the cage until April or May.

Here we go again with the excuses. Here’s what Penn’s boxing trainer Rudy Valentino had to say in an interview with SI’s Josh Gross:
“I think it’s because of his so-called steroid use, and all of that, that B.J. felt it was an unfair fight. Just the whole thing about not being fair, and fighting fair, you know. That’s what B.J. wants to get off of his back; The greasing stuff, the steroids, and all of that”.
“We heard from certain people that used to train with him, telling us what he did in the past. That’s why, we had a heads up on that. When you cycle steroids, you’re not going to test positive. You can cycle it right up to the time of the fight and not test positive on that. That’s what we suspected he did in this fight”.
Or here’s the other crazy option: The dude is huge and much much bigger than Penn. That’s why he was able to take the Hawaiian down so easily.
Until we have proof, I don’t want to hear about anyone in MMA being on steroids anymore. Are there probably some people who are? Absolutely. However, unless people are willing to give them up, or they fail a drug test, we can’t go around pointing fingers.
