		<description>I like your thinking, although i am not sold on throwing out another $80+ mil contract this offseason. Simply having Joba and Hughes as starters and maybe a low-risk/high reward guy like Ben Sheets could get the job done. 

I don&#039;t think pitching AJ Burnett on short rest was an amazing idea, but the problem is that it was the best idea given the alternatives. 

If Joba had a more successful year as a starter or they simply left him alone, if Phil Hughes wasnt placed in the bullpen or ir Chien-Ming Wang never got injured, the whole 3 day rest debate wouldnt be happening. But unfortunately, those things did, so the argument wages on.

With that said, whether it be trusting young guys as starters or signing John Lackey, something needs to be done next year. I stand by supporting Burnett on 3 days rest, simply because it was our best option. Hopefully next year, we have some better ones.</description>
