Dear Mike Sims-Walker,
This Monday, after you were suspended for “violating a team rule” and your team got smoked by the lowly Seahawks. I’d like to dedicate a song lyric to you. Don’t worry, it’s actually a rap song, by Mac Lethal.
It’s strange, but one day, I’m gonna be an old man,
I hope to be happy on that day because I finally stood up,
and moved the hell out of my own way.
I need to get the hell out of my own way. And so do you.
Mike, I loved your team this season. I really thought that with a revamped offensive line and a good year from David Garrard, you guys could make a run at the Super Bowl. However, I said that what the Jags really needed was you. They need that elite receiver that can take some of the pressure off Maurice Jones-Drew, a receiver that can provide enough big plays to keep a team that doesn’t score a whole bunch on top, and they needed you to stay healthy and become the wide receiver that I knew you could.
It looked like I was right about you for a couple of weeks. So far, you have put up some big numbers, including a week four performance that had me running around and pimping you to people like you were my son that had just won some kind of trophy. I really felt good about both you and your team going into this week’s game.
So, I’m sitting here on Sunday watching the Giants take apart the Raiders and preparing myself for some Victory Brandy, when I hear that you had been suspended for the game. I went into panic mode. Turns out that you “violated a team rule.” Later, PFT would say that “you didn’t follow the team’s itinerary” in Seattle. Mike, it’s Seattle, not South Beach. What were you doing? Hanging out at Starbucks? So, you don’t play and your team loses. Gets shutout actually.
This can’t keep happening Mike. You could be one of the league’s best if you could get your life together. Take care of your body and stop being an idiot and missing curfew. If you are what I think you could be, you and your team could be one of the AFC’s best. If not, you guys will get shutout by Seattle.
Just get out of your own way.

Defranco,
I hear you but the final part of your post where you made it seem like he pulled a Plax is where I got a bit confused. But I agree, Sims-Walker can’t make a habit of doing dumb crap like this. Especially in the weeks I won’t be playing Jordan in fantasy!
Reply to MattUhhhhh overreaction much?
Reply to MattMatt,
Not when you have been waiting for MSW as long as I have. It’s so frustrating to me when you have a football player with his kind of potential that can’t stay healthy. That’s not his fault, but I am doing to blame him for missing curfew.
That’s inexcusable.
