Everyone probably knows this by now, but tonight’s Isles-Devils game will be televised on MSG Plus! This is the first Isles-produced preseason game I can recall since a post-lockout game between the Islanders and Rangers, where every announcer for both teams piled into one big booth and said “You can’t do that anymore!” about 50 times after penalties.
Anyway, while tonight’s telecast is big news, it’s not the purpose of this blog. We’re in the process of updating the Islanders drinking game, which was one of our first ever posts and is in desperate need of a overhaul. If you find anything worth including, please leave a comment. Unfortunately, we won’t have Howie Rose and his bad puns tonight, but Jiggs McDonald should be by to butcher a name or two.
Enjoy tonight’s game! And don’t forget to give us your most drink-worthy observations.
It’s been a tough few days for Frank Trigg. First, he had his UFC comeback spoiled by the right hand of Josh Koscheck. Then, Dana White said that we wouldn’t be seeing Frank back in the Octagon anytime soon. Now, Frank gets some good news as MMAJunkie and Yahoo! are both report that we will get to see the 37 year old back in the Octagon at least one more time.
Trigg goes on to say that he is already back in the gym, and that he is ready and willing to fight as soon as possible. He mentions both Vegas cards that are coming up, and a rumored one in Austrailia in Februrary. Personally, I’m happy for Frank. It wasn’t like he looked overmatched against Koscheck and Josh grounded him into the mat. Trigg just got clipped and couldn’t recover. I’m interested to see who they put against Trigg. Any ideas? Leave them in the comments! Okay, this is a funny shirt. For all the MMA T-shirts out that try to be really bad ass, it’s cool to see that the guys at TapouT haven’t lost their sense of humor.
For those who are unsure why I’m laughing, That’s Kimbo Slice’s signature beard and skull cap on a big ass skull. Check it out at MMA Warehouse for 23.99. My god, does former UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell look awkward. I guess that any footwork that doesn’t include moving backwards and throwing a huge looping right hand doesn’t come natural to Chuck. ">It’s terrible, but it’s awesome at the same time. Good to know that myself and Faras Zahabi have something in common. Listen to this interview. He gushes more about Jon Jones than I could in any given day.
I’m just saying. The dude trains the world’s pound-for-pound king. He’s gotta know what’s going on a least a little bit. Zhabi and St. Pierre go way back, and the two travel to Greg Jackson’s Submission Fighting together for pre-fight training camp. Here’s the best quote from the whole video:
Jones will take on Matt Hamill at the The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale. He reports to Montreal for training camp next week. |
