Well, I hate it when Jason is right. On draft day, when the Niners traded for a second first rounder next year, Jason pulled up a list of draft eligible quarterbacks for the upcoming season and started laughing like a madman. Turns out, that PFT just proved him right.
My only problem with it is this: How sure are we about any QB next year? The early favorite would be Sam Bradford of Oklahoma who doesn’t make pro style reads in his current offense.

The next would Jevean Snead of Ole Miss, who Jason is currently trying to sell himself on. Snead originally was a Longhorn before Colt McCoy took control of the future of that team. Now, Snead will try to make a home for himself with the Rebels. While I haven’t seen all that much of Snead, he finished out last season very strong by defeating Texas Tech in Cotton Bowl, and CBS’ Pete Prisco thinks he should be the #1 Overall pick next season. If the 49ers are as good as I think they will be, They will be out of the running for Snead altogether.
Lastly, There would be the previously mentioned McCoy. If there is an offense (outside of Texas Tech) that worries me when it comes to evaluating QBs, its Texas. McCoy’s insanely high completion percentage is not function of himself as much as it is making just really simple reads. I don’t beleive much in Colt. Sorry, Texas fans.
Notice how I didn’t mention Tim Tebow? Get used to it. He’s gonna be left out a lot this season. Say it with me: Fullback.
Anyway, I applaud San Francisco for having part one of the plan down. Now, they need to figure out part two.
