This may be the funniest commercial of all time, but I can’t figure out if the comedy is intentional or unintentional. This is the new Georges St. Pierre Gatorade commercial. Check it out.
Well, if nothing else, it’s true. I also called the fact that they wouldn’t have GSP speak during the commercial. It’s cool to see this man, who is just a sick athlete, get his due.

Ladies and gentelmen, I never want to hear this guy speak ever again. Throughout his career he’s said some pretty freaking dumb things, but this has got to be the coup de grace:
“In boxing, we know who’s dominating. Black fighters and Hispanic fighers is dominating in this sport. And this is not a racial statement but there’s no white fighters in boxing that’s dominating, so they had to go to something else and start something new.”
He’s referring of course to MMA. First off, his grammer is just awful. Second, this could not be any less true. Let’s start naming excellent black MMA fighters:
- Jon Jones
- Rashad Evans
- Anthony Johnson
- Cheick Kongo
- Quentin “Rampage” Jackson
I came up with five more, but I won’t bore you with their names. The point is that Mayweather is an idiot. Also, this is a sport that was dominated by Brazillian guys for most of it’s infancy. Last time I checked, Brazillians are Hispanic. Or Portuguese. Whatever, you get my point.
This is all leading up to a Pay-Per-View showdown between Mayweather vs. Marquez and UFC 103 in Dallas on the 19th of September. It will be the first time that a major boxing pay-per-view will take on a UFC card on the same night.
Here’s hoping that Floyd’s ego gets smashed.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen, and Craig Smith have all been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for wandering perimeter player Quentin Richardson.
Remember that Kenny Lofton commercial where he kept traveling from city to city because he’s been traded so many times? Well Q-Rich has had a similar summer. He’s gone from NY to Memphis to LA to Minnesota. I’m sure he isn’t too thrilled about his newest destination. LA or Minnesota, where would you want to live?
I like the trade for both teams. The Clips get a PG in Telfair who has a reasonable contract (2/3.2 Million) and believe it or not is still only 24 years old. It gives them some insurance behind Baron Davis who has been injury prone. Madsen is a an expiring contract (2.8 Million) who can be bought out or traded again potentially. Craig Smith also has an expiring deal (2.5 Million) but is a pretty solid rotational player. If the Clippers move Camby or Kaman, Smith can help fill the void.
The Clippers save about a million this year but the T-Wolves clear Telfairs money (2.7 Million next year) which was most likely the sole motivation for the trade. The T-Wolves also clear up logjams at PF (Love, Jefferson, Gomes, Thomas) and PG (Rubio?/Flynn.) Q-Rich can still possibly be a decent rotational player but for a team in rebuilding mode he may be hard pressed to find minutes. It won’t shock me to see him be bought out or traded by years end.
The rare trade that makes sense for both teams. I like the trade more for the Clippers because they got the better talent back but the Wolves needed to make a move and this make sense.

Willie Parker has reportedly been “attacking his off-season training regimen like he never has before.” “I’m getting that speed back like I had two or three years ago,” Parker said recently. “I’m faster than I’ve been.”
Translation: “Rashard Mendenhall is breathing down my neck.” I think Willie can still be an effective running back but his time in Pittsburg is probably nearing an end. Look for Mendenhall and Parker to split carries nearly evenly this season.
Carson Palmer continues to show excitement over Chris Henry, telling NFL.com’s Pat Kirwin that the receiver could be “on the verge of a Randy Moss-type career.”
The problem has never been Chris Henry the athlete. It’s been Chris Henry the TOTALLY INSANE GUY. His rap sheet is ridiculous and it remains to be seen if he actually has changed his ways like he claims he has. Henry has always been a tremendous waste of talent but the raw talent he has is on a Moss level. He’s certainly a guy to keep an eye on as training camps open.
Matt Ryan “must have lived in the weight room all off-season,” notes NFL.com’s Pat Kirwin.
Remember when Tom Brady got huge and all of a sudden could wing the ball 90 yards down the field (and bang supermodels to boot.) Think the same thing happened to Ryan. Ryan always had the intangibles but some, including Anthony and myself, doubted his physical skills/upside. Ryan continues to make us look foolish and could be in store for a monster year.

The Chargers are the NFL’s perennial underachievers. While they may have made some noise in the playoffs, but they have always seemed to have records that don’t indicate the amount of talent that they have on their roster.
The prevailing theory is that Norv Turner just isn’t a good head coach. Is that true? We asked Mike Sullivan of Mr. Sports Blog to explain this, and all other things Chargers to us.
