What I Learned From Giants-Seahawks…

It’s been really enjoyable that every pundit in America has been giving the Giants the Patriots treatment over the last 24 hours and worshipping the ground that Eli walks on. However, here is the truth: The Giants aren’t the best team in the league. No one is.

This year has brought us back to the era of true parity where any team can truly beat any team. There are 5 or 6 teams that can make the argument that they are the best team in the league, and on any given sunday, all five or six may actually be just that. That’s the way this year is going to go.

As for the actually game yesterday, I dont know if I have anything to say that hasn’t already been said. The Running game was excellent, but the passing game was even better. The pass rush was ok, they only made it home once, but the run defense was stellar. The special teams was good.

The reason I think yesterday was so important is because the Giants are beginning to develop a system. What does that mean? Well, you know when people talk about the Patriots losing a key member of their team to an injury and all the analysts say that they will be ok because that one player doesn’t make the team? Well, what do they say that does make the team? It’s always the system. Without Burress yesterday, the Giants were just fine, Eli was just fine, and his understudies stepped up. That’s the system.

Anyway, if you are a Giant fan, enjoy the next week of praise and people screaming about how great the team is, but be aware that it could all change each week.
