A la Rotoworld:
The Kansas City Star has confirmed that the Chiefs are talking to other teams about a possible Tony Gonzalez trade.
Profootballtalk.com reported the same news earlier Saturday and NFL.com had an inkling this might be coming a few weeks ago. The Star indicates that the Chiefs won’t settle for a low-round pick, which may hurt a chance for a deal. No other teams have been mentioned, but this is a rare deadline rumor that makes sense.
So, Would you be willing to give up a third round pick for the greatest tight end of all time? He’s 33, but he is also a dangerous receiver. A team that lacks tight end productivity would do well to trade for him. However, Rotoworld said that the Giants would be a prime target. I disagree. The Giants have enough weapons already, and despite the fact that Kevin Boss hasn’t been heavily involved, it’s not because they don’t have a tight end. It’s because Steve Smith has taken a lot of the looks that Jeremy Shockey was getting last season.
Nontheless, I’m sure Gonzo’s fantasy owners would be happy to see him moved from the Football hell that is Kansas City.
