ReDOMption: Entourage’s best Episode in a Long Time

I can’t believe it. There was character development in an episode of Entourage. I’m shocked, and pleasantly surprised.

Both Jason and I have long criticized the show for lacking any real direction. They seem to drop story lines and forget they ever existed very quickly. What ever happened to Rufus’ daughter and Turtle? What happened after Harvey bought Medallin? We’ll never know. Dropped. Gone.
I also cringed when I heard that they were bringing Dom back. His two episodes came after my personal favorite, which is the Almost Famous episode. I thought the show was headed for 24 Territory, which in my life is something only approached by football. Instead, we got his stupid, badly acted character for two episodes and then it was back to the same old good, but not great show.
However, I am glad to say I was wrong about his return. Instead of being silly and immature like he was last year, he appeared as a desperate man looking for a second chance he was destined not to get. Meanwhile, the twist of Alan dying and Ari looking closely at his life showed growth in one of the show’s main characters that is long overdue. Not to mention the fact that anytime we get to see Bob Ryan, it’s a positive.
If I had one piece of advice for the writers it would be this: Make it so somehow Vince gets to make the Ramones movie. It kills two birds with one stone. It gets Bob Ryan back involved with the show, and he’s hilarious, and it’s the most believable role that Vince would have gotten so far in the whole series. In fact, some studio should actually grab Adrian Grenier to play Johnny Ramone.
I really should produce.
