Jason Witten’s Bruised Ribs; Meet Kenny Phillips.

Did anyone else notice that Kenny Phillips, who has made a couple of plays here and there early in this season, suddenly was everywhere in the Steeler game? Besides an (absolutely absurd) late hit penalty, all of the mentions of his name were very good. This is what I imagined when the Giants drafted him.
So, everything seems to be lining up for the Giants to trounce the Cowboys this weekend. Tony Tomo is out, The top three corners for Dallas are out, Felix Jones is out. Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger couldn’t make a decent quarterback between the two of them, so I’m not really worried about eithier of them. The only worry on defense is going to be the man that Max Kellerman said is the NFL version of Wolverine, Marion Barber. Last year, The Cowboys offensive line was way too big for the Giants to handle. This year, that same line is still huge, but is playing terrible. Why? Because their line coach, Tony Sparano, is now coaching the Dolphins.
On offense, I would expect a heavy dose of the Giants own X-man, Tha Juggernaut Brandon Jacobs. Eli Manning will take his shots downfield, and assuming that Plaxico doesn’t find a way to get suspended between now and Sunday, I expect at least two touchdowns through the air.
I see no way that the Cowboys beat the Giants. Only the Giants can beat the Giants. If they come out thinking that TO and the Boys will lay down for them, like they thought the Browns would, they’ll lose. If they play hard, and physically beat the Cowboys down, I’ll be celebrating a commanding division lead in Week 8.
