Manny Ramirez is no longer a Red Sox (Sock?)!
A three-team trade has been agreed to that would make Ramirez a Marlin, have Jason Bay going to the Red Sox, and make Anthony De Franco mancrush Jeremy Hermida a Pirate.
This is actually a good trade all around. It shows that the Marlins are serious about competing by adding Manny, meanwhile when they let him go this year, it allows them to pick up two draft picks for him. The Red Sox get rid of them headache that is Manny, and still replace him with a name player. The Pirates pick up another good young hitter.
Also on the Marlins front, Mike Jacobs was pulled from tonight’s game with the Mets. That’s likely because he is head to San Francisco in an exchange for Catcher Bengie Molina. So, Looks like the Marlins are serious here.
