C.C Sabathia Is A Brewer

Apparently the Sabthia to the Brewers rumors had some life to them after all.
Sabathia was traded to the Brewers for Matt LaPorta and other prospects. The other prospects do not include top prospects Alcides Escobar or Mat Gamel, according to the Journal Sentinel.
And that my friends is a coup for the Brewers.
LaPorta was drafted 7th overall in 2007 by the Brewers. At the time he was looked at as a reach. People also questioned his fit with Fielder entrenched at first and Braun in left. Well as they have many times the Brewers proved to be smarter than a lot of analysts.
LaPorta mashed his way through rookie ball, A and AA. He was hitting .291/.404./.584 in 82 games in AA this season.
The Brewers also don’t have to trade their other top offensive prospects Gammel and Escobar in this trade. Gammel is a 3rd baseman, who like Bruan, will have to change positions at the next level. However, what he does do is absolutely mash. Escobar is one of the top infield prospects in the game.
If I were to guess one of the prospects will be Taylor Green who has been linked to this trade for a while now. Green is a young 3B/2B prospect who is hitting well at High A this year, however his power numbers are down from last year.
Win win for both teams. The Indians are out of it and can’t afford to resign CC. They get one elite level prospect at a position of need, whos very close to being MLB ready. They also get two other prospects.
The Brewers get CC for either the short or long term. At worst if he walks at seasons end they get two first rounders. The whole entire Brewers team is homegrown, they know how to use their picks.
They Brewers are poised to make a deep playoff run this year. And they still have plenty of prospects to move (JJ Hardy, with Escobar ready?) if they want to acquire more parts.
